PAINTING AND PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS IN PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC

For over a thousand years an intersection of ancient trade routes, Golden Prague, UNESCO cultural site, remains a cradle of fine arts and home of famous artists.  The city’s immense historical and cultural heritage is portrayed in an extraordinary number of museums, galleries, castles, palaces, and churches of all architectural styles.

Set up your easel at the foot of a castle, embedded in a royal garden, and create a master piece of your own.  Pick up your camera, catch perfect light on your favorite monument and create an original memoir. 

YOUR ONE – WEEK PAINTING WORKSHOP

Class is limited to 6 students max. Everyday you will visit two enchanting locations to paint from 9AM to 4PM with  break for lunch and optional visit to the gallery afterwards.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Natalia Vetrova was born and raised in Russia, where she studied traditional Russian art of icon painting, stained glass, carving, and sculpture.  Then, she studied at the prestigious Stroganov Academy, where she received her Master Degree.  Before settling down in Vancouver in 1997, she traveled extensively throughout Asia, and Europe where she painted picturesque landscapes and enchanting cityscapes. While Natalia worked in Paris as a portraitist, she managed to put poetry and magic into her paintings of everyday life. Today, many Natalia’s paintings can be found in North American and European private collections.  She exhibited her work in numerous galleries and she is represented by the Romanov Gallery in Vancouver.  She is a former Vancouver Academy of Art instructor. In her studio in Kitsilano, Natalia instructs Visual Art and Fashion Design to teens and adults. Currently, she conducts painting workshops throughout North America and Europe.“I admire Natalia’s gregarious and friendly teaching style and her ability to get enviable results with students of all levels.” A student.

YOUR DIGITAL CAMERA INSTRUCTOR

Mark Habdas is a well-known photographer and teacher.  He has successfully displayed his work in various European galleries. Mark’s images are collected throughout North America. He has designed and guided many courses for the Vancouver School Board, such as Computer Fundaments, Web Design and Publishing Adobe Photoshop, Digital Photography and Art Portfolio. YOUR PHOTO CAMERA INSTRUCTOR

Born in Prague, Czech Republic, Lani Jeffrey studied the Theory of Culture at the Charles University. Since then, she worked as a freelance photographer in Europe and Asia. In 1990, Lani moved to Canada, where she received her Bachelor of Education and teaching certificate from the University of British Columbia. She continued to study photography with Mark Habdas until she developed her unique mixed media style by blending photography with poetry and natural materials. Lani’s work is continually displayed  in various galleries and privately collected throughout North America, Asia, and Europe.  She was interviewed by CBC and CBUF Radio and featured on CBUF Television and CTV. Her writing on art around the world has been published in numerous publications. FOLLOW-UP 2 DAY PAINTING/ PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP IN VANCOUVER

In September, after the return from Prague to Vancouver, the students will have a chance to attend 2-DAY- workshop for $150-CDN to finish their masterpieces and present them to the public during the exhibit in the Kitsilano studio.

DAY 1 - Workshop will run from 9 a.m. until 4p.m. with a one hour break for lunch. With Natalia’s or Lani’s guidance, you will finish your favourite pieces, enlarge them, mat them and frame them at the Opus Art Superstore on the Granville Island.

DAY 2 – Workshop with the exhibit will run from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a one hour break for dinner. With Lantalia’s or Lani’s help, you will create your portfolio and organize a group exhibit of your work in the studio the same night.

PAYMENT INFO

Non-refundable deposit (except for a serious medical or family reason documented by the family doctor) of $350 will be accepted upon registration. Balance of $350 will be due no later than June 27. The cost of air will be paid by the traveler independently.  If the full payment is not received by this date, your space will be given to another registrant. If a workshop is full or cancelled for any reason, your full registration fee will be refunded.
